College Football Power Ratings And Week 2 Preview | Upset Alert | Betting Locks

Updated: Sep 11, 2023

Week 1 of College Football is in the books and we've already seen unlikely heroes rise, and giants fall. Colorado was all the talk of Week 1 as Deion Sanders marched into TCU and handed the Horned Frogs a loss on their home field. Shedur Sanders and Travis Hunter had monster days leading the Buffaloes to their first win of the 2023 season. On the other side of the spectrum: LSU, Clemson, and Baylor all took devastating losses. LSU got manhandled by the Seminoles of Florida State, Clemson shot themselves in the foot repeatedly along the way to a 21 point loss to the Blue Devils of Duke, and while Baylor wasn't expected to have a top 10 type of season, they surely didn't expect to lose to Texas St in week 1... Moving on to week 2, hosts of The 10 Second Runoff: Joe Mitchell and Alec Escudier, reveal their power ratings as followed

Joe's Power Ratings:

1. Georgia

2. Michigan

3. Florida State

4. Alabama

5. Ohio State

6. Penn State

7. Notre Dame

8. Washington

9. Oregon

10. USC

There are only a few top 25 matchups this week, the most notable being The Alabama Crimson Tide vs The Texas Longhorns. This game went down to the wire a season ago, and we may be able to expect more of the same. For Texas to win, they will have to provide an answer for Alabama's dominant run game, and set the tone in the passing attack early. Alabama has one of the most talented and well coached defenses in the entire nation, so this will be a tough task for Texas. The next ranked matchup is Ole Miss at Tulane down in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ole Miss is going to be the favorite but Tulane went to Kansas State and found a win in 2022 and beat USC, and the Heisman winner, Caleb Williams, in the Rose Bowl to close out the season. QB, Michael Pratt is the name to know when talking about Tulane. Ole Miss has one of the best rushing attacks in all of America, behind true sophomore Quinshon Judkins. After hitting the weekly lock parlay in week 1, we're looking to roll over our winnings and see if we can keep riding the lock ladder through the season, betting alternate spreads. Betting locks of the week: Notre Dame (-2.5) vs NC State (-265) Utah (-2.5) vs Baylor (-280) Wisconsin (ML) vs Washington State (-215) Total Odds: +174 UPSET WATCH Alabama, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss are all playing losable games today and these should be the ones you have an eye on.
